Hello and welcome to The Simson Foundation! Thank you for taking the time to understand the work that we undertake, both here in the United Kingdom & Internationally.  This website is a stop-gap for TSF while our new, more functional website is under construction, so please bear with us for the time being.

Our Background

Founded in 2009 and formally registered with companies house in the United Kingdom in 2010, The Simson Foundation is a Non-Profit, Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO). Operating independently, we do not have and will never have any political or religious affiliation that restricts our ability to work with typically disenfranchised communities. We were born in response to the acute need in the Global South for an adaptable, 'best-practice' portfolio of skill-sets and funding solutions to address some of the varied, long-term environmental challenges that local communities are struggling with on their own. Our aim is to assist and empower 'grass-roots' groups to resolve the issues that they know best but lack the means or know-how to tackle without our help.

Our Methodology

The work that we undertake is determined by a needs-based analysis, informed by a short, medium and long-term impact assessment of our involvement. We are committed to ensuring that the communities most in need are the ones that ultimately benefit from our work. The Foundation's core values are very important to us: they not only set out how we want to be perceived in the wider world but also reflect our moral vision as individuals and in partnership with others. These values form: The Simson Foundation Charter!

Our Goals

The Simson Foundation's aim is to develop a working strategy for long-term social and environmental development. We believe that, by partnering with local charities and NGOs in our work, we gain a better understanding of the problems communities face at 'grass-roots' level - and can therefore provide a service that isn't just a patch but instead a complete solution. We work with the widest range of stakeholders, including traditionally-disenfranchised groups, to research and understand these problems, and to develop proposed solutions with the assistance of our Advisory Board, which comprises leading international academics and industry professionals.

Environmental Remediation

We are currently developing plans for a number of environmental programmes to mitigate the impact that rapidly-developing communities have on the environment. Key areas we are interested in working in involve:
  • Reforestation
  • Environmental Tourism
  • Oceanic Protection
  • Species Rehabilitation
  • Sustainable Harvesting

Humanitarian Development

In essence, we are a project-driven orgnaisation.  We specialise in working with communities at "grass-roots" level to develop long term solutions rather than a temporary fix, in key areas of particular need. Working with local charities and NGOs we target problems that, if left unresolved, have real potential to cause significant human suffering. Key areas we are currently working in include:
  • Drinking Water Provision
  • Sanitation Provision
  • Education Infrastructure
  • Primary Healthcare Infrastructure
  • Disease & Infection Eradication Programmes
Watch the video below for an introduction to these and other challenges that the Global South currently faces.
